Hair Care
Summer and hair care
As the summer heat increases it becomes increasingly difficult for
both men and women to take care of their hair and scalp. There are many
heat related problems and main thing is dehydration. The body ejects
lots of fluid through perspiration, sweating and urine. The atmosphere
becomes dry and dusty and some times humid. The dust particles set on
your hair and scalp. You will see most people scratching their head and
make you noticed for wrong reasons which shatter your confidence. You
may even consider shaving your head bald. Instead try some of the
fallowing tips and be cool and confident:
Keeping your home cool
Keep the windows of the room from where direct sunlight enters
closed. Open those when the sun sets and allow natural breeze enter your
room. Avoid cooking and washing in mid day as it generates heat. Keep
lots of indoor plants in the room. Use an Air conditioner if necessary
with dust filters.
Keep away from the sun Avoid sun’s rays directly falling on
your head. You may use a thin muslin scarf, a hat made of bamboo or some
other head gear that can keep your head cool and at the same time absorb
the sweat out of your head. This will help in the dust getting settled
on your hair.
Avoid dust Apply oil regularly. Comb your hair regularly and
remove the dust settled on your hair. The dust is always the main cause
of dandruff and keeping clean your scalp and hair will keep the dandruff
away. Have a regular head bath in cold water. Avoid using warm water for
head bath or chilly water. Avoid using shampoo with high chemical
contents. Use natural shampoo for head bath. Massage your scalp with
herbal oil one a week. You can try applying lemon on your scalp to make
your head cool, Hair oil mixed with amla will help keep you head clean
of dandruff and also cool your scalp. Do not use hot hair iron or blow
dryer to dry your hair. It will make your hair brittle and will start
splitting.

Things to keep in mind To keep our selves cool we always go to
a beach or swimming pool. The salty air in the beach and chlorinated
water in the pool will damage your hair if you do not take proper care.
Take a clean cold water bath immediately on returning from the beach or
pool. Avoid shampooing too often.
You must avoid using others head gears and use your own and keep them
clean. You may get infected with lice by using others head gear. Do not
go to bed with your long hair open. Before going to bed comb your hair
neatly and tie them in a bundle.
Few natural things that can keep you cool
The
Crysthanamum flower is natural medicine for most of the hair
problems. Make a paste of the flower with amla and peeled orange shell
and apply on your scalp. Keep it for an hour and then wash with a
natural shampoo. This will clear dandruff and lice off your head and
make your hair shiny and cool. A mixture of lemon juice, henna and egg
applied on your head for an hour also will have similar effect.
Your diet
Your hair needs protein, vitamin and minerals to grow and remain
healthy. You should always be diet conscious, Avoid using fatty food.
Excessive fat not only damages the heart but also the hair. A balanced
diet with protein, vitamin and minerals is very important for keeping
you healthy. Drink lot of water and fresh fruit juice to keep you cool.
